I finally finished Water For Elephants. It's excellent!

Really? Then that'll have to be one of the ones next on my list. I've heard good things about it and it sounds awesome, so to hear from a friend that it's good is a bonus!

We should both pick up An American Tragedy again. Ha. Ha. Ha.

lol...I was actually just thinking about that book the other day. It's funny because I remember it so well, which usually if I don't finish a book (which hardly ever happens) I don't remember much about it. Even books I have finished that weren't great I have a hard time remembering details about. But that one I seem to remember everything.

I guess we could pick it up again...but that would involve having to pick it up again. haha.

Yeah, I was putting some books away tonight and I glanced at it. It really wasn't a bad book... just a lot of details, but good. I don't even know why I quit reading it because, like you, I don't like not finishing books. I even finished Valley of the Doll, which is probably the most awful book I've ever read in my life. Anyhow, AAM was a good book so I wish I knew why I gave up.

Hey, once Doug's back and you need a good book, you should try A Confederacy of Dunces. I have never had a book make me as angry as that one, but I was angry at the protagonist because I hated him so much, and to me, the writer's ability to make me angry is a sign of excellent writing. It's kind of long, though, but totally worth it.

Oh, and I just started a romance novel that my friend Heather bought me as a gag gift. I bought her one our Junior year in high school and made her promise to read it. She did and then did the same thing to me, so I figure since it's the shortest book I have I could finish it before Doug gets back. (And then have some sex pointers! ;-) jk)

I started yesterday and I'm halfway through...the writing it pathetic, but it's funny!

Dude. That's exactly what I thought about the one Danielle Steel books I've read! I just wanted to re-write that and the whole time I kept thinking, "Who says that?"

A+ to the sex pointers!

Ahhh, Danielle Steel...it's like pulling teeth reading her. But I'm not reading that kind...it's actually like romance romance novel. It's called Bad Influence, a Sex and the Supper Club novel. haha. It's funny. So far only one real sex scene. I find myself skimming the boring details of the rest of the book to get to the interesting hot, steamy lust part. ;-)

Ohhhh, sounds... naughty! Sex and supper, huh? I wanna be part of that club.

Whenever I read the book selections in Cosmo, I'll be honest, I skip straight to the sex parts. I mean, that's why we read it!

I'm trying to read "ABC" by David Plante, after I heard an interview on Bookworm.
Good luck w/ your 50 goal. It's hard with school. =)

:) I made it to 44 last year -- I was pretty proud! Yep... seven books in Jauary! I'll admit, I had three weeks with minimal work, and a few of the books are adolsecent lit books... but I really, really love reading and make a lot of time for it. It helps that I'm an English major!!! :) Plus, I have to read for pleasure, no matter how stressed I get with school. Otherwise, I forget that I love it so much1
