You’ve been fighting for his heart for a long time.You’ve been watching him from far. You’ve been trying to talk to him, but he can’t seem to notice you.
He’s your best friend. And your second love. Seeing him smile makes your heart spin. But knowing that he doesn’t feel the same breaks you heart. And he has been your best friend since kindergarden. You’ve loved him since 3rd grade. You’ve helped him getting a girl. You’ve cheered him up when he’s going to confess. All you want to do is to kiss his pink lips and embrace him tightly. While your brain tells you that you’re crazy.
One footstep closer. You see him talk so happily with his best friend. To happily. You wish you was his best friend. You’ve always been wishing that. Since 3rd grade.... To think that you’re 17 now makes you laugh. How foolish.
You’re on your way home. Faking a smile, faking your happiness for him. He talks about his day, he talks about this new girl in his class. Who’s supposed to be very pretty. It hurts. It hurts badly. But you just smile and asks if he can introduce her to you. He just smacks you on your back and laughs heartly.
How many girls have you been with under the time you’ve been loving him, 5? 6? Just to forget your love for him. You actually loved one of them, but she dissapeard. A time later you heard that she had been in an accident. You said you wouldn’t love anymore. Still, you can’t stop loving this boy.
You’re at his house. On his bed. Chatting. Like a couple of high school girls You love these times. When he tells you things that he wants you to keep as a secret. Pinkypromise. You smile at his innocence, you move a little closer, leaning forward. You stop yourself. He looks with his big puppy eyes at you, smiles that wonderful smile and pokes you on your cheek.
The rain’s pouring down. You stand outside his window. You see him laugh, smile, talk. One time when you stood here he saw you, he smiled at you, he waved at you. That was the happiest time in your life. It makes you think of why you fell in love with him. It was in 3rd grade. You where sitting alone on some swings, crying. When he came forward you at first he just sat there beside you. Then he looked at you wtih those eyes, then he smiled. That smile.Then he started swinging, laughing. Then you realized that you had stopped crying. You were smiling and laughing. God you miss that feeling.
You decided that you had to go home. You couldn’t be there anymore. You ran out from his room, he screaming after you, you hear footsteps after you, you hear how he falls. You don’t want to hear. You messily put on your shoes. Runs out from his house, you see this boy, you try to remember who he is. You stop running. You stand there, looking at him. When he sees you see how he gets startled. How he starts to slowly walk away awkwardly. But you run up to him. Hugging him. You’re to broken to even care.
You see him. His best friend. He stands there. Looking at you. You get startled, starts to walk from the spot you’ve been standing on for hours. But he runs up to you, hugging you desperatly, sobbing in your embrace.
