Happy New Year everyone! What's new?

No New Year's kiss for me--I had a cold. I stayed home, did laundry, and played video games. Exciting, I know. Meh.

J-Term has officially started. I love interim! My class is called Russian obsessions, and it's a literature course. The reading is gonna kill me: Dostoyevsky The Idiot, Tolstoy The Kreutzer ( Read more... )

when I first read whats new, my immediate thought was, SSDD (same shit different day). but its really much better than that. Recently I've been hanging out with some peeps from Norton Sound this break while they're in the area.

Your class sounds really cool... like... a lot of reading. You'll get it done though, I've got confidence in you. I miss j-term. *sigh* And I miss you.

SSDD - Yeah, I sometimes feel the same way. Everything's so structured. I'm glad you're able to have some type of a social life; mine's fallen drastically since you all graduated. I miss you all too! It may be better for academics, but you need to give yourself a break, right? I hope that your friends from Norton Sound aren't too far away from you :)

I'm still gathering my books. Thank God I started Lolita over break. We're not due to have it read until the end of the class, and I've only managed to read the introduction, but I know from there's it's smooth sailing. It really helps that I'm excited to read these books.

Did you know they built a broomball rink on Ytterboe lawn? I haven't been to play yet, but the rink looks awesome!

YAY! Video games on New Year's is fun!. I played the new Harry Potter game, haha. I feel obligated to play the HP games when they come out.
As far as I can tell, they used Ralph Finnes' voice for Voldemort, which made me geek out a little.

March 7th can't come soon enough--I hope they include a bit more extras!

Guh, I sucked too much to get to Voldemort before having to return the game. It was depressing. I couldn't get past the second task due to my lack of skilllz.

Sadly, you weren't missing much for not making it to Voldemort. The game was HARD. Defeating Voldemort was NOT HARD. You weren't even fighting Voldemort, you were fighting a flying statue. Yeah.

I totally hope that's true. That would be good news #2 after finding out RENT is supposed to be out on video in april or may.
