Dating. Texas.

I moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in the fall of 2004. Before that time, I don't think I'd ever heard the word "metroplex." Nor have I heard it anywhere else. Though it does have its own entry on Wikipedia.

I saw a quote recently that stuck with me... "If you're looking for the love of your life, then stop. Start doing what you love and you'll find it." Moderately cheesy, but still true.

And I doubt I will when I quit my job and move to fucking Nepal in search of piece like George Harrison or Donovan--both of whom had the advantage of being rich musicians who never had to look for love ( ... )

Most women in Dallas turn up their nose at dating someone who lives all the way out in Euless. They equate that with some low-rent, foreign country.

You really think it's most? There's definitely a percentage like that...it's that way in every big city. The anti-suburb thing. Like Queens is another country from Manhattan.

You could be correct. Maybe it is "most" and I've just been fortunate to meet a few people not like that in Dallas. But all my long relationships here have been in Tarrant or Denton counties. Always with non-DFW natives.
