I just watched Waters of Mars, and
Up until now, we all assumed that The Master was going to be the villain. I'm not so sure now...
I loved this episode because it was terrifying. The waterlogged zombie monsters were horrible, but completely Batshit Insane Ten will give me nightmares, I know it.
I was watching this with just a sheer look of D: on my face, because he's just--he went off the deep end. He has snapped, and I don't like it. *flaily hands*
For a while now, I've said that Ten will probably voluntarily regenerate, and I think that's the way it's going. He's screwed up, and I think he realized that he did. I love David Tennant for being able to play CRUCKING FAZY so well.
My speculations are that he goes back to see Rose, Donna, and the others to try to warn them to not have anything to do with him, to try to change it, because he knows he messed up, and ruined their lives by meeting him. I know one of the spoilers for The End of Time is that he says to Rose something like "This year will be great." or something of that nature. I think he may tell her "Whatever you do, don't leave with the guy in the black leather jacket." thinking that her life without him would be greater than the one she had with him.
That would be SO INCREDIBLY FUCKING SAD AND MY HEART WILL BREAK, but RTD said he was going to push a big reset button and leave everything the way he found it...and this would be a good way to do it. Maybe he chooses to regenerate, and Eleven doesn't really remember all that happened to him. Enter River Song with her "Giant Twilight-esque Self Insert Fic Diary of All the Shit the Doctor Ever Did With and Without Her". I still don't trust the bitch. She has ulterior motives. XD
& with the Master coming back, I'd have to watch it again to be certain, but didn't the Time Lords shoot him away to save him when Gallifrey blew up? Maybe they cloned him? That would be scifi lame, but it would make sense and give him a way to come back...maybe to stop the Doctor?
I'd hate to think of the Doctor (THE DOCTOR!) as being the villain, but it would be a lovely turn. He's always toed the line between good and evil in the past. THROW HIM OVER!
So yes, ignore my crazed rantings. WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THE EPISODE, LOVELIES?!
ONE MORE! ONE MORE WITH TENNANT! I CAN'T. Oh this is so sad.
