If everyone in the world was going to die tomorrow... But, each person could secretly pick one specific OTHER person (not themself) to go on living past this Apocalypse, with a normal, happy life... I wonder. What would the world be like. Who would still be here? Would I?

because you'd have a bunch of people who would do the "if you choose me, I'll choose you" thing. The world would be just about the same, in my opinion. All the hermits would be gone though... nobody to make the deal with. Of course, then there would be a lot of backstabbing, because some people are just bastards... "*Sure*, I'll pick you..." It would be interesting to see the world pair off like that though.
