so i heard that it was going to flood, and i high-tailed it out to the parents' house for the show. i was running late on the bus, so i suckered some girl at the park'n'ride into driving me home from issaquah, that was a score

I also thought that an autumn flood was strange. Y'all must have received quite a bit of rain to do that without snow runoff.

late autumn is the prime time for flooding because it's when the weather systems are really fickle, and the jet stream is pointed right at washington. you'll have a huge amount of snow dumped, followed by a huge amount of warm rain... this time is was just the rain, but a band of precip stalled over the central cascades and dropped upwards of 10 inches in 24 hours.. pretty rad, and yes, earlier than normal.
