AWWW you gave my picture with JCM a stripy backround! HEARTS! You totes should have cropped us out of the picture of the three of us, though, beause I don't look entirely retarded in that one, haha.

ALSO I rilly like the last Dubai picture. It's blurry in the best way and I love the contrast between the fan and the old Mosque-y wall. Not image-y contrast, but, you know, symbolic contrast.

I look retarded in that one, and I make the rules. I'm not entirely sure cropping would have worked, we are all kind of smushed together I think. Plus I don't have it.

It's actually blurry in the "I was crouching in an uncomfortable way and falling over and as a result couldn't adjust the camera to account for the larger depth of field needed and my hand slipped on the lens, thereby severely damaging the intended focus" way. But I like how it turned out too.

I believe the "film speed selector wheel thingie" is called an aperture. NOW YOU TOO CAN BE A SNOBBY PHOTOGRAPHER!

Yay for getting to stalk celebrities as well! (That's snobby photographer talk for "too".)

NOOO, the aperture is the pentagonal-shaped thing in the lens that closes when you hit the shutter release. You can set its full width with the f-stop thingie on the lens, and it affects the shutter speed, but that's different! What I mean by film speed is how fast the film reacts to light--I use 400 speed for dark environments, and then 200 for sunny/light photos (this is the most common speed used, I think). The film speed selector wheel thingie is what lets the camera know what speed it's dealing with, and that also has some effect on the shutter speed.

Snobby photographer? Check.
