This was really well done. I was fully engrossed in Sherlock's mind here, and I loved the care John gave him. *happy sigh*

Beautiful.

Oh, thank you. It's blimmin' difficult to get into Sherlock's mind and figure out how he thinks, so I'm really glad it worked for you. :)

I agree completely. So far, I haven't written from his perspective; I find it daunting. But I love what you've used as the frame here -- not having his usual senses (sight, hearing) really forces you to examine the very essence of who he is, which -- I think -- would really help you find his voice.

It is rather scary to write from his POV - I certainly wouldn't want to take on a case fic, with full-on deductions from his perspective. So much of what Sherlock thinks is pure deduction, based on what he sees and hears, and to take all that analysis away leaves both very little to build on and an awful lot of room to expand. It was certainly a fun thing to try. :)

Holy. Crap. I was crying when Mycroft had to leave Sherlock's side to help Anthea. I know that fear and panic Sherlock was undoubtedly feeling, so it was heartbreaking, but at least John came back to save the day.

Brilliantly written. I love everything about it.

This was really good and enjoyable. Good old steady John. What a saint. 0:) I liked that it was John's sweater and John that anchored Sherlock, though I did wonder why he wrote on the paper when he could have just talked? His volume control would have been weird, and they probably would have had to take the oxygen mask off, but maybe he would have found that too disturbing - to talk and not be able to hear himself.

Either way, most enjoyable. :)

I don't have experience of it myself, but I imagine it would be EXTREMELY weird to talk and not hear yourself. That was my main reasoning. Also I didn't much like the image of Sherlock talking and John replying by tracing letters on his hand, would make for very one-sided conversation. So I may have exercised a little artistic liscence there. But I'm going with the "It would feel incredibly weird" thing. :D

I'm glad you liked it despite that though, thank you for the comment!

I love John tracing words on Sherlock's skin. What a wonderfully intimate way of communicating. :) And yeah, I'm totally down with artistic license going for Sherlock writing as well. It wasn't a big deal in my head, just one of those, "Heeeeeeey, wait a minute..." things that happened only after Sherlock spoke and could hear himself. ;)
