Isolde's ABC Guide to Supernatural

This is just something I did for fun. Don't anyone take it too seriously - its whole purpose is elicit at least ONE grin.

You'll find A through N behind the tag. The rest of the alphabet comes later.

Isolde's ABC Guide to Supernatural

A is for Apple Pie. As in, "I hope your apple pie is fricking worth it!" This line is uttered by Dean in the episode Scarecrow. This is the episode that teaches us that small towns will literally kill to make an apple pie that surpasses Sara Lee's. Because honestly, how else are you going to bring in the tourists?

B is for Bugs. This is the episode that brought us cheesy, dead plastic spiders, even cheesier CGI crawling spiders, the shortest night in history, and the weeniest flamethrower that not even the hotness of Dean could save. Best known for being completely craptastic, it nevertheless gave us Dean and Sam posing as a couple, thus inspiring almost everyone in the fandom to check out the condos in the Special Hell.

C is for Cassie. The love of Dean's life - besides Sam. She dresses in clothes that she leaves in the dryer too long, wears too much makeup and doesn't believe in a mourning period. She is exclusively hated by the fandom, but remember - if it weren't for her, we never would have seen what Dean looks like having sex.

D is for Dean. The older Winchester brother. I could write an entire essay on this man, but I'll force myself to keep this short and sweet. So gorgeous that it almost hurts to look at him, Dean is also funny, sarcastic, tough and fiercely loyal. He's also damaged as hell, which somehow makes him infinitely more attractive. He loves his brother, his father, his car, heavy metal music, and wearing too much blush. In that order.

E is for EMF Meter. An EMF meter measures electromagnetic frequencies. This device is a must have for today's up-and-coming ghost buster. Dean's happens to be homemade from a Walkman, which makes it totally ghetto, but somehow more beloved.

F is for Faith. This episode gave us so much. A sick, vulnerable Dean that wrestled with his own issues of faith and mortality. A protective, determined Sam that simply would not accept that his brother was going to die. Love and angst simply abounded in this episode. Plus it had BOC's Don't Fear the Reaper, which we all know is one of the coolest songs ever AND Darla from Buffy and Angel.

G is for Ghosts. Our boys fight them, they banish them, they've been molested by them, and they've even been saved by them. Let's face it, if it weren't for ghosts, where would our boys be? Well, Sam would be in college learning law and Dean would probably be getting drunk in the local bar and wondering if he could get a sugar momma to pay his bills.

H is for Hell, Special. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is where every single one of us in the fandom is going. There's so many reasons to go that no one escapes. There's reading, writing or drawing Wincest. There's reading, writing or drawing underage Wincest, which is even worse. There's enjoying the heck out of seeing Dean hurt, either emotionally or physically. There's the non-con, the mpreg, the sacrilegious priest!kink, etc. The list goes on and on. And on. Actually, there might be one or two of you out there that just enjoy reading fluffy, happy gen. Those few won't be joining the rest of us down in the pits, partying night after night and watching Brokeback Mountain for inspiration. Poor sods, I pity you. As for the rest of the Special Hell contingent: book your tickets, grab your suntan lotion and a six-pack and get ready for a wild ride.

I is for Impala. AKA Metallicar. This car is black, sleek and has more attitude than all three of the Winchesters combined. It has become so beloved by the fandom that fic has been written from its POV. Unfortunately, it had a little accident in the season finale, but we all know with enough love and attention from the boys that Metallicar will live to see another day.

J is for John. As in Papa Winchester - the man whose loins created the two most gorgeous and angst-ridden brothers in prime time. And wouldn't you know it? He's pretty damn hot himself. The fandom tends to like him despite the fact that he was probably a borderline abusive father. When he wasn't neglecting his sons, he was putting them in physical jeopardy. And when he wasn't doing that, he was adding to their emotional scars by being a little heavy-handed with a liquor bottle. But again - we like him. Why? Because he does love his children. And he's hot.

K is for Kansas. This is where the Winchesters hail from and where the whole angsty enchilada started. Who would have ever thought that men that look like that could come from the flat Kansas plains? Damn, they should really put that in a tourism brochure. I'm sure more people would move there. I know my ticket's booked.

L is for Latin. The language of choice when exorcizing demons or sanctifying something. Why? We don't really know. What we do know is that Sam's hotness factor increases exponentially when he speaks in Latin.

M is for Mary. AKA Momma Winchester. Slashed and burned to death on a ceiling because she was trying to protect her youngest boy, Sam, from a stranger in the house, her death sends John full-tilt, igniting his need for vengeance and thus beginning the quest. And did I mention that she gave birth to the two most gorgeous and angst-ridden brothers in prime time?

N is for Nightmare. This episode gave us Sam and Dean dressed as the hottest priests to ever wear the black robe and white collar. Inspiring thousands more fangirls to sign up for the Special Hell, this episode also featured angsty vision Sam and concerned Dean. But really...it was all about the those damn priest outfits.
