Ugh.  I just got a phone call from the Parks & Rec department about my garden plot.  Someone complained that I had planted in her space (number 38).  I said, no, I planted in spot 40.  And the woman was explaining to me where plot 40 was in relation to the walkway.  That is to say, she explained where I thought it was when I signed up for the spot

Oh that's no fun at all! I think the best thing to do would be to have you and 38 lady change places, since you've already got stuff in the ground. Let us know how it works out!

The problem being that there really is someone gardening in the spot number 38(my very friendly plot-neighbors) as well as the plot physically located next to the walkway where the number 38 should have been according to the Parks map (me). I think the solution is going to be that the woman who has the lease to number 38 is actually going to be down in number 32, since it is still open (because the girls in the plots next to me, instead of planting in their plot numbers 32, 34, and 36, planted in the spots second, third, and fourth from the walkway.)
Is this confusing yet? It makes sense with a map.
Unfortunately for the Parks woman, this problem cropped up on the other side of the walkway as well, since some people were measuring based on "plots away from the walkway" and some were going by plot number.

Could this be solved by sneaking in and moving the plot markers?

Probably! Maybe I should just mix up all of the numbers where the plots don't appear to have been planted in yet, sneak the 38 markers in there... voila!

What a mess. No matter what they do they're going to make people unhappy. I do love that people were using two different methods of finding their plot, just making the whole thing messier :-P
