If you're on a PC: Right-click on the folder, select Send To (which should probably be above Cut/Copy) and then send it to a compressed folder for a .ZIP file. If you have the winZIP program or whatever, you can select 'add to archive' to make a .rar file.
If you're on a Mac, I have no clue. Google is your friend! hahaha.
hahaha You know, I'm actually not very tech-savvy. It's just that I need to zip files a lot. How did you get through project work without ever zipping any files! haha. I think the only diff is that they're being compressed by diff programs. Haha. I was wrong in the comment above, though: winZIP (which shld probably come with most computers?) zips files, winRAR makes them .rar, duh. xDD If you make your file .rar, the person you're sending it to needs to have the prog, and not everyone may have it. But rar files can be password protected whereas zip maybe can't? Gosh, I don't really know, HAHA.
And yes, they do get smaller! :D Not by much though. Usually by about maybe 1MB or so?
