The arrival of Halo 2

Nov 21, 2004 17:47

Well, it's official, my academic career has once again been hijacked by a video game. This past weekend was my first foray into the realm of Halo 2, and I have to say, I'm once again plagued by mixed reactions. I found out that you can actually link more than one XBOX without using a router, either by a crossover ethernet cable or an ethernet hub ( Read more... )

"I give Halo 2 (multiplayer) an 8.5 out of 10."

I whole heartedly agree

You also touched up on some awesome points that I hadn't thought about
(ie, the beam sword)

excellent review man, you should write for a game rag

I'd say post your review on GameFAQs, but I made on for StarFox Adventures, giving it a 4, and some douchebag e-mailed a long winded flame. No lie.

I appreciate the props y'all, but this is just crap I typed up off the top of my head. There is sooooooo much more to talk about, I just got tired of bitching. I'm not worried about getting flamed for my opinion, but I just don't have the time to invest in something that I would be willing to slap my name on and put on the internet.

That's about the same score I'd give it, but then again, you haven't had the lackluster campaign to lower your opinion, yet :P. Also, I was sitting around wondering why I didn't think Halo 2 was that great and then it hit me; it wasn't like playing a new game. It was more like an expansion pack. Imagine if Blizzard tried to pass Lord of Destruction off as Diablo 3. Anyway, I figure you know more about the overall balance than I do, since you had 8 people to play with.

i agree with you on some of the multiplayer points you brought up. i haven't played multiplayer with any more people than me and my cousin on a split screen but i have to question your "8 rockets to take down a scorpion tank" test. was someone in it? did you use the lock on? i know that when i play josh in coagulation i can take him out with 2 maybe 3 shots at the most if he is in the tank ( ... )

About your questions regarding my tank test, yes a dummy player was sitting in the tank. Vehicles, for some reason, are much easier to destroy when they are empty, that's why I use the banshee to go quickly take out as many of the opposing teams vehicles as i can before someone gets in them ( ... )

hmmm...are you sure you're talking about rockets and not grenades with the tank? i hooked up my extra controler and put one dude in a tank on coagulation and i was able to demolish the tank in 2 hits ( ... )

Like I said, if you score two direct, back to back hits, it will kill the tank. But if that second rocket doesn't get there before their shield starts to regenerate, it won't, it will just take their shield again. And and I don't even know that it would be possible to kill a tank with the brute shot, that fucker sucks. It takes three direct hits with that thing just to kill a person, much less a vehicle ( ... )
