This update is coming to you live from the library at Northeast State. Why am I updating from my school library you ask? Because my internet is down, and has been for about the past 5 days. I contacted technical support and through his thick chinese accent, I barely managed to gleam a bit of technical information about my computer. My problem

did you contact your isp and tell them? is that where the chineese dude is coming from?

there should be a link in your start menu to the windows update site. once you go there it will automatically scan your computer to see what updates are available for it. once its done just pick the ones you want to install (i'm pretty sure the security updates are labled as such).

Did you d/l the Windows Service Pack 2? That was the source of all of my heartache and pain, because it fucks with your internet connection by not allowing anything other than a LAN, essentially. If you did, then your only choice is a full system restore, as far as I know. If not, then I don't know what else to say.
