Dear Hollywood,

Stop making movies where American actors fake the South African accent. It's more subtle than they can master. Hire actual South African actors. May I suggest Cliff Simon?

Dear Adri,

Yes, but we're fucking Hollywood. We'll make AMERICAN movies with AMERICAN actors and the good people of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA will watch them. Or have you forgotten we're a bunch of uncultured AMERICAN assholes?

Keep on keepin' on,
Hollywood.

P.S. Watch our shit!

(Sorry. Granted I don't know what a South African accent sounds like, bad accents grate on my nerves, too. ;-;)

*hugs* I saw another preview for that film with Matt Damon as some SA rugby player and Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela. I love Morgan Freeman but NO HOLLYWOOD, NO. Between that and Blood Diamond I'm voting that Hollywood hire actors who are actually FROM the region which they are attempting to represent.

It's never going to happen, though, and you know it. :| I mean, why cast unknowns when you can have Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman?

I know. In my ideal world unknowns are given a chance when a part comes up that they fit to a T.

Do you think Leo DiCaprio did a good job? He seemed pretty convincing.

He was okay, had a few slip ups. It makes me sad that a part that would be ideal for a South African actor like Cliff Simon (who isn't completely unknown) is going to "big names" because of their status.
