I grinned the biggest grin
that you have ever seen
when I finally got what i had been
wanting for so long. I put the roller
blades on my feet,
rolled around the room.
the fun did not last long,
only until i went outside
and crashed into
another girl’s
house.

i wrote it hastily. I forgot i still had one more poem in my assignment and i was getting tired so i was like arrrrggggh whatever. i gotta rewrite it but i can't think of anything. the subject is to make something from the past be a metaphor for something else. in the sample poems, one used a mom teaching her daughter to ride a bike as a metaphor for when the daughter was older and moving out of the house and the other was a dude carrying a very heavy box as a metaphor for someone close to him have dying. i did better the other times, just this time i'm drawing a blank
