Halloween

I'm reading a pretty stupid book called Halloween: What's a Christian to Do? by Steve Russo. The first chapter, entitled "Halloween Then and Now" was pretty good. It gave a basic overview of the historical Halloween forerunners Samhein and all that. It is fair and pretty informative. Then the chapter closes with a question of what concerned ( Read more... )

Ah yeah, we've been learning about Samhein in my Humanities class, discussing Celtic myth. Interesting, lol.

Yea, Halloween is not evil... though some say it is more of a devil's holiday, it is just a day to dress up and get candy. We don't worship the devil! If people did, then that is consider evil!

But yes, I see what you are saying...

I'm not even sure how the devil got in. It's all about the dead and junk. All the ancient forerunners to it were called different things, and Halloween is actually the Catholic name! It's just like Christmas, a conversion of an ancient holiday.
