... Well, it's not like a whole lot of time passed last time I was here.  It's like the opposite of the Twilight Cage here. Well sometimes anyway. So I guess the others'll be fine until I can get back again, right?

... It's just, well, I knew we shouldn't've trusted him, but it wasn't like I knew we'd be gone for so long. Shoulda paid more attention to what Shade was talkin' about back there.

Well, it turns out Knuckles isn't the last of his kind in our world either. There's this whole other clan of Echidnas who got banished to this other dimension called the Twilight Cage a long time ago. Some of them managed to get out and steal the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald, and were planning on using them to open a gate so they could all get out and take over. We went in after them and kicked their butts on their own turf, but time moves more slowly there than it does back home, and we had to go and leave Eggman behind on his own.

((Well, Sonic would've been paying attention to Knuckles and Julie-su a bit last time he was here. >.>))

Yeah, GUN hired you guys to help look into things when the whole mess started... but you guys weren't with us when we went into the Twilight Cage.
