A thought...
Ok I have a theory...that's it's a demon...wait wrong show.
I have a theory and I am going to hide it so if you don't want to see....dont follow :)
Ok so here is my thought...the dad is not the dad. Johnny boy is Meg's dad who she summoned in Shadow. Now this is where it gets tricky. There is big bad...the guy we saw tonight who is the REAL demon killing kids. Meg and dad are middle bads. They want to be big bads but know if they made a move on big nad they are dead. So Meg dad turns up as Winchester dad...who then gets the boys to get the gun. Since he couldn't eneter to get the gun himself since the house was sealed by wards and salt as shown in the episode. Now, Meg calls Megdad up in front of Big bad to show she is on Big bad's side. Meg dad shows up, fake gun, holy water trick....and then the next we see is the big bad holding Megdad up against the wall. WHILE Meg is back pretending to be the demon for Sam and Dean. Why would a real demon care if some kid came cahring in a room and pointed a gun unless the demon knew the gun could hurt them. So Big bad takes Meg dad...the brothers go out to find him and in the end kill Big Bad so Meg dad and meg can then move up the demon food chain. Leaving the Winchester boys with the literal smoking gun.

We havn't seen Winchester dad since Home...where he KNEW of Sam's visions. Meg wasn't interuppted in Shadow casting her spell to bring something big over...something that is the same big she was talking to in the cup in Scarecrow. She said she was doing this the same reason they were...which to me means following her father. It was not Winchester dad in Dead Man's Blook cause he would have gone into the house himself instead of waiting outside for the kids to be done.
I think there is a con but I don't think we are the ones it is being pulled on. It is being pulled on the big bad we havn't seen the whole time. I think that they watched the Hunters to find ones that were powerful and deicated enough to kill the big bad and they found it in The Winchesters. I have a bad feeling about next episode....
