I love the book, I read it while I was studying at the Newberry Library, so it was like super cool. I haven't seen the movie and I really don't plan on it - I'm very picky about adaptations and I'd rather just have a perfect book then a okay movie. But then again, I'm picky about books too.

I'm super picky about books and their movie adaptations, so I hear you. Nothing is worse than loving a book and then having that sullied by a bad movie adaptation. (For this reason I have not seen (nor will I see) "Confessions of a Shopoholic".) The reverse was true for "Julie & Julia", though -- love the movie, hated the book.

The book is amazing, and I thought the movie was a much better adaptation than I had been anticipating. Not perfect, but very respectable.

Thanks for a positive review -- I'm still torn, though, because I am loving the book so much. Maybe I will wait several months after finishing the book before I check out the movie.
