I googled a little, and the Internet says that in the book it's "Moon Child". This place has a sound clip: http://www.fantasien.net/tnes/misc/faq.html. I haven't seen that movie since I was a little kid, and I loved it, then. I'll have to add it to my Netflix queue.

I had a couple of other people tell me that, too. That Bastian yells "Moonchild". Tricky bit is, according to this FAQ, that's not his mother's name, but it was forshadowed in the movie.
