Job Issues

My horrible job is horrible. But I now have the surefire oppurtunity to become a god of horridness. Yes, I have been pulled aside and told that I am on the track to become a manager of my horrible job because I'm so kickass. Here's the rub; I hate my job, I don't want to be that intimate with my job. Here's the other side. I would make like... ( Read more... )

Ever see that episode of Boy Meets World where Cory's father is all talking about settling for a shitty job he doesn't even like for like 14 years and then he gets fired and he's all contemplating why he settled for that shitty job in the first place?

I'd say bail, BUT, on the same hand, just about everybody hates their job. I guess what it really comes down to is the amount of tolerance you'll have putting all your time and effort into a job you hate just for some extra cash.

It's all up to you man. It's ALL UP TO YOU.

Ok. Look at it this way. You live with your mother and you pay her a small amount of money. You have little to no bills, as far as I know. If you would be making as much as you say, this is your opportunity to save mass amounts of money...and then you can really quit and get the hell out of dodge. For real. Also, being a manager can grant you opportunities for the destruction of their empire, from the inside out.

I say, bite the bullet and smile through your pain and do it. Once you make the wads of cash you need to escape, you can proceed in figuratively (or literally) shitting on Wal-Mart's collective face.

Well, I choose what I knew I would despite posting this which was completely pointless. I told them no, I'd rather stay a simple cashier, I'm not the kind of person who wants to order people around etc. Maybe I made the wrong choice, I don't know. It doesn't matter I guess. I've always figured if you become management at that place (they make pretty good damn money) you will probably become complacent and be there for the rest of your life. I'd make more than enough money to satisfy my lifestyle. But i'd be completely miserable... Maybe I'm insane. I knew if I became management there I would almost definetly become complacent and work there forever. It'd be too easy. Maybe this way I can.. get out eventually. Either way, at least I'm not comittied, asking poor dumb cashiers to 'straigten candybars' in a serious manner. No matter how much money you pay me, that is so far beneath me.
