alright so i was reading this board right, on slc punk and it got into the arguement of what the true punk is. some of the posters believed it was a fashion thing from the 70's. other more idealistic posters believed that it was an attitude, a way of life, and that style and labels didn't matter... now there's the problem of course. in saying that ( Read more... )

oh zach, you are so wonderful. I am glad that you took time to talk about a subject that is also important to me. when you go to elon you should seriously take a few trips to greensboro. i have met some of the most amazing anarchists here. and its so nice to be involved with politically like-minded individuals. have you ever heard of food not bombs? you should come to one of the food not bombs here so i can introduce you to all of these people. also in a few months there is going to be SEANET (south eastern anarchist network) at guilford college (also in greensboro) so you have to check that out.
anyways i hope you are having a wonderful finish to your senior year!

wow, this is what i need to see more of in the forums. most kids who argue against anarchy don't really touch on any issues, they just go oh its stupid. but yea this is really good writing. although i don't agree on some points, like your comparison of neo-conservatism and anarchy, i mean in ur own words they are different, so that comparison didn't really work for me. and i said in my original piece, "almost all people will live in a way where they do not enfringe on the happiness of others", almost, not everyone, and while there is no system to take care of it, people don't let others walk all over them. i dunno, this is one of the arguements against anarchy that comes up all the time, and i wish i was better at argueing so i could put into words what i'm thinking but yea, i'm not as smart as you or megan. and i know our system isn't perfect, and thats the problem, we need to fix our system, we need to find a way to live without having war, or sweat shops or any of that kind of stuff. i'm not saying jumping to anarchy is the way to ( ... )

Anarchism, true Anarchism anyways, is hard to talk about to people who havent accepted it as their ideological belief. The media is constantly bombarding our culture with this pathetic misrepresentation of what Anarchism is. On the news you may hear about rowdy “Anarchists” killing cops at some protest. This inane exposure that Anarchists get makes me scare to tell my friends that Im an Anarchist because I don’t want them to be afraid of me ( ... )

I believe that our current establishment does not have the peoples interests in mind, they have their own and their corporate sponsors. If government can vote to give pharmaceutical companies legal immunity in the patriot act how can we pretend they care about us ( ... )
