It's SCIENCE!

This is the kind of thing that might be more fitting as a tweet than an lj entry... but dude, I had to share.

Here's what I just heard as part of an evening news promo:

Female Newscaster: Shaking what they've got - to prove a theory wrong...
Male Newscaster: Why supporters say scantily-clothed women do not cause earthquakes.
O.o ( Read more... )

crack, tv, random, humor

It's actually a response to a religious official claiming that earthquakes were caused by female promiscuity. Today was a national event called "Boobquake" - it's been circulating around Facebook. Women pledged to, er, show off their goods to prove (or disprove) the idea that their cleavage causes natural disasters. It's not random, per se, but it was still pretty funny. :)

oh, that is awesome. i would totally have participated if i, um, had anything to show off. *cough*

and it would have to be female promiscuity, too.

ah, sanctimony, what will you lead us to? i actually once heard a pastor (one i'm sad to say i otherwise really respect) preach that boys are likely to grow up gay unless you encourage them to play with toy guns. *facepalm*

but slutty women = earthquake, that is a good one.

of course, they could've given it a little more context in that promo, lol. otherwise it really does sound like utter crack. XD

That thing about guns just reminds me of this rap song lyric

"unaware of the nature of phallic symbols, tragically ironic, suckin' off each others' gats & pistols..." lol

Yes it is. Jenna said that to Liz while she (Jenna) had been reading a Janis Joplin biography. Liz said, "So how far along are you with that book?" and Jenna said, "Not very."
