I know that it cost a lot to buy one and feed one, it also takes a lot to keep up with one. Theyre very gentle dogs but can be provoked easily, come in 6 or 7 colours including blue and harlequinn. They're prone to hip problems because of they're wweight/height. According to a few breeders raw meat is healthier for Great Danes to comsume. It has been scientifically proven that they don't know how big they are...which can be dangerous when dealing with a Dane and small kids...probably more but its late and my brain is off.
Lol I didn't mean to seem like I was quizzing you or anything. I was just asking because I hear a lot of people say they want a certain breed and then when I ask if they know anything about them they'll just say something like "my aunt had one when I was a kid" or "they're just so pretty" lol. I work for a pet store and we very rarely get Great Danes because of quality (like you said hip problems, etc.). You really need to be careful with a private breeder. A lot of them make promises they can't keep. They'll tell you that you can come to them for any problems you might have and they'll just never answer the phone or even move away. Get things in writting for sure. I don't want to come off like you don't know this already, just looking out for a fellow dog lover :D I've just heard SO many private breeder horror stories
