116 soldiers have died fighting a war they shouldn't be fighting...and you, FOX, allow some frigin comedians, to make fun of our military in some of the worst ways possible and at quite possibly one of the worst times.

You didn't know we were even there, eh? Well, tell that to the soldiers and their families...I'

Yup. Totally agree with you. I was pretty pissed when I watched the video as well.

When have we 'relied' on their great army to defend us? I can't actually think of a time and yet I'm fairly certain that we have regularly backed them up. And, should we have a problem - which is unlikely unless someone is pissed that we back the US, the chances are we'd be 'relying' on the UK and France to back our asses, not the US. The US might be right next door, but we still have ties to Europe.

Someone on a CTV site today stated something like: "What are the two wars we haven't been involved in or allied with the US? Vietnam and the war of 1812. What happened to the American's in both cases? THEY LOST!!!"

Sadly, the bit that I watched came across to me as very stereotypical of the asshole American who thinks that sunshine comes out of their ass. As far as I'm concerned, it's not only an insult to us, but to Americans as well.

I understand being insulted by FOX news. As a Muslim American, I'm regularly attacked on that channel. And making light of soldiers is terrible, of course.

But I'm not too sure why you're getting mad at the U.S.--unless you think we should be censoring speech... FOX is NOT a government channel and views expressed on it definitely do not represent us as a country.

If you think we're ignorant of the sacrifices the Canadian military is making, like our young men and women are making, you're wrong. I worked on Afghanistan issues for the US government for a while and let me promise you--we were always awed by it. Soldiers who obey the laws of war and risk their lives for a greater cause should be and are respected in this country, I promise, regardless of what uniform they wear. For the most part--and when they're not, it's a great shame for our national character.

Again, I am sorry you were hurt, but I would ask not to judge an entire country by ANYTHING said on FOX.

I don't and I'm not, I have several, several American friends...FOX is just a jackass channel...the smartest man on that channel is Homer Simpson. I know it sounds liek an attack on Americans but it ain't just on the stupid loudmouth ones who are regularly seen on FOX...

This was on FOX news, which is totally different from the Fox broadcast channel where Simpsons airs. And, of course, from the Discovery Channel, all of which are owned by Murdoch (who is evil!!!) In which case, Homer is not on the same channel, and there are no smart people. Ever.

It is ironic--Fox News is complete shit (and that's where this aired), Fox itself has some of the best and most thought-provoking TV ever (Dollhouse, X Files, Simpsons, etc), and Discovery has some incredible programing. Hard to believe they have the same parent.

But Red Eye is the conservative unfunny Daily Show.It isn't a comedy--it's like a talk news show, and they're not comedians, they're pundits who think they are funny. I love the Daily Show, but some of the shows it spawned, especially on the other side of the political spectrum, make me shudder.

and I agree, the Daily Show is frigin awesome.

I'm not going after American's just the dorks on that show yesterday. Without them there'd only be Hockey Night in Canada and Corner Gas.
