Dear Bryan Singer: I have great respect for you and your work, what with the Usual Suspects and the X-Men and House and everything. You took a lot of crap for Superman Returns, but only because you were put into the position of what was basically polishing a turd. Dude, I haven't seen Gene Hackman in a movie in YEARS. What happened to that guy?

He more-or-less retired in 2004 after "Welcome to Mooseport". He didn't make a big deal about it, and his agent told him not to say he was retired in case a really great role came up, but he pretty much was tired of the business and didn't have any roles in the chute that he was interested in doing. According to him, all they offer you after a certain point are "grandfather" roles, and Gene-effing-Hackman is nobody's effing grandpa, you dig? :)

So he's been doing Home Depot commercials and writing novels. Plus he has an interest in an outdoor goods store in Arizona or something. He's living the dream man! But, if Bryan Singer had a good enough script for BSG-3, I think we could talk him into it. o_o
