I think I know too many spoilers for what's ahead to be anywhere near as worried as you are. *g*

OK, that's good. Because I read an interview with Andrew Marlowe today in a Seattle paper, and basically he didn't make me any less wary. He indicated that the season would be a lot of questioning the relationship, that the distance (physically, professionally) would constantly be a factor, and that Castle would not be interested in getting involved in Beckett's work cases after the events of this season opener. So if they're not working together... it's just what?

I am completely unspoiled but also completely unconcerned. I think that Beckett will go back to the 12th, having given her big chance a good shot . . . but that it isn't cast as a failure, and it isn't cast as a failure to Beckett. Things we think we want can not succeed for reasons we don't anticipate, and I feel fairly confident--though completely unspoiled--that that's how we'll roll.

And yeah, the contract dispute rumors were why Nathan Fillion was on my list, but things seem to have settled in whatever way they are going to settle, so. Hoping for a solid sixth season.

Well, I hope you're right, and I'm way off base. That would be just fine with me.

"If, for some reason, Beckett goes back to the NYPD, that means she failed at her "big chance"."

I'm hopeful that her returning home, will be because she realizes, although she is fully capable of the job in DC, that NY is just that for her, "Home". Not just because of castle, but because the job, her friends and family are where her heart really is and where she believes she an make the biggest difference for her work and herself. I think about Castle's dad and the choices he made... and the regrets he seemed to have at the life he didn't have. Maybe being away will give her the perspective, that she wasn't really missing out on as much as she thought.

That would be lovely, if they could do it in a way where Beckett comes back "clean," no shadow of failure at all. I will hope for the best, but as an experienced fan, I won't expect it. :S
