So I've been a little preoccupied

Hello. Right now I've really had my fill of writing papers, so I thought I would digress and write a live journal entry. Woo hoo! Just so you all know, I am looking forward to staring the school year. I have MOST of our music picked, and I think everybody will be pleased with something. Grad school is kicking my butt, but I love it. So far, I ( Read more... )

Wow... I'm glad I'm not going to grad school.

Yesterday I went and saw the Detroit Symphony Orchestra perform. They were performing some songs composed by Nobuo Uematsu. I don't know if you're dorky enough to have heard of him, but it's possible. Anyway, what was really cool was that the Stoney Creek High School Chamber Choir performed a couple songs along with the DSO. I don't know why I'm telling you this, but I guess I just thought it was cool and it made me think of you. Hope you're having a great summer and you better come see the shows at Wayne next year. Even if I'm not in them... I'll probably be ushering or something. =P

Food?!? I'm there! Just let me know when, and I'll be there. I'm almost ready to start thinking about school, and what better way to ease into it then with some wholesome choir work? Anyway, I'm glad to hear you've been keeping busy, but still have time for a vacation. Hope to see you soon!

So, I'm not sure what to think about this Harry Potter thing....
Have you biked across MI yet?

Oy, Harry Potter! We have to talk. Anyway, biked most of the way across Michigan, got sun poisoning, and then came home two days early. It was God telling me to stay inside where I belong.

I'm having a great summer!! I wasn't complaing about gradschool at all!! We're going on a great big family vacation to northern Pennsyvlania (if you want to call it that). It's called "Shawnee" and my parents have a time share. I'll be there with everyone. We'll go swimming a lot, and tubing down the Delaware river, and play a lot of tennis (I'm not so good...but it'll still be fun!) Anyway, I'll let you all know a date. Probably some time around the 22nd! I can't wait to see you either! I'm looking forward to a TON of stories. How was Europe Carl? It's gonna be a great year!!

So I was sitting here reading this post and half way through I thought I'm going to leave a comment that says:

Dear Marci Morrow,
Expect a call very soon about shopping from Emma and I.
Love,
Emily

Then I got to the end and saw that it was part of your post and that made me happy. So don't you worry, we haven't forgotten.

I WAS GOING TO LEAVE THE EXACT SAME COMMENT AS EMILY. Even though I'm still not supposed to call you Marci.

But really -- we haven't forgotten at all.

Just an update about my summer: I'm in Stagecrafters adult theatre company's Music Man (as Zaneeta) with Liz (who's in the River City Teens). We go up the weekend after school starts (our tech week is the first week of school). We close the first weekend in October. I'm expecting you to be there at least once.   :-)   Also, I'm now studying with Dr. Mellow -- things are going very well (I'm already in the process of picking college audition music!) even though it's like starting at ground zero ( ... )

I'm soooooooo glad to hear you're studying with Dr. Mellow! This is wonderful for you. I hope you are seeing improvements, even if it's a little frustrating at times. I hope she is picking more challenging music for you and giving you some ideas as to where to go to school. I will be certain to come see The Music Man. Looking forward to shopping....

I'm SOOOOOOOO glad I'm studying with her, too. I am definitely seeing improvements in my technique and feeling improvements as I sing (I'm holding WAY less tension in my throat -- well, I'm working on it), even if my sound isn't improving yet. However, she keeps telling me that I'm doing a wonderful job and everything takes time -- she's great.

I'm looking forward to shopping, too!
