Les Américains no longer revere our fashion esthétique the way they once did. de Vise, Doucat, Paquin...these names mean nothing to les Américains any more. Even Chanel must compete with the Gap and Wal-Mart.

Aw! This was very bittersweet and added a sort of melancholy note to i_17bingo's piece. The whole thing together has an interesting Sunset Boulevard vibe for me.

So much feeling in such a short piece. Very well done. I found it interesting that with the way you put the words together, even the English sounded French, if that makes any sense. Like an actual French person were putting those phrases together, etc.

Thank you. I don't speak French, but that was the vibe I was going for - I tried to choose grammar structures that had a bit of that "not quite a native English speaker" feel.

LOVED this! I think you captured the woman's voice from i_17bingo's entry really well, and although this is fiction and there's no way of knowing what that woman was actually like, I feel like I better understand her behaviour in his piece.
