It's interesting that in my quest to rip streaming jack johnson videos that I came across the same ones at both mtv and vh1. Normally, it wouldn't be to surprising. But they both had live preformances with him, both claiming that they were mtv or vh1 exclusive or whatever. what the heck is that? and if you look at the addresses even, the site

well considering that they are both owned by Viacom, they really aren't rivals. They are just aimed at different target audiences. but the real fact is that neither one of them play music videos anymore, except really late at night if your lucky.

well then we need to start a channel just to have some competetion, break up the monopoly. i'm sure if we just played music videos (block programming by genre maybe, or a good mix of everything) it would get super ratings. especially if we played more than 5 videos at a time.

that is what i hate about both of those channels, is when you are lucky enough to see videos, it's candy shop by 50 cent or boulevard of broken dreams by green day, or that stupid one by that stupid ciara chick. wtf?

and mtv2 used to be all videos, until they started whoring it out to mtv shows that didn't do well, but still had an audience, i.e. wildboyz, etc.

well, i was going to start a radio station but a music channel is needed a lot more.

Their idea of variety is horrible. I swear I am so tired of seeing the Alicia Keys videos. Its just so sad that the buffer music for their shows is so much better than the actual music that they promote with the videos.

at ucr they used to show college television network. they used to play a variety of videos with no shows. then they were bought by MTV and messed it all up.

but i guess mtv can never go back to music videos. if they did how would those people on real world /road rules make money.
