I finished The Prestige today and now I have that somewhat depressed feeling that always accompanies ending a good book. Of course it's rewarding to reach the end, but I love being in the midst of a good book, knowing it's waiting for me to return to it, being fully immersed in it and having all of those future pages to look forward to. how was the book? it wasn't a written-for-the-screen type thing, was it?

Oh, not at all. The movie was definitely an adaptation, and the two were very different. Character relationships, the feud, even the secrets were different. I really enjoyed it.

Did you read "Johnathan Strange & Mr. Norrell" yet? It's plenty lengthy and terribly well-written and engrossing.
