I like the new interface - but getting used to it takes time, definitely.

There is hope. I discovered by accident, while working on a report, that old keyboard shortcuts based on the old menu structure still work (like Alt-E-S to get Paste Special). I typed the command automatically out of habit and it worked. And I just found a wonderful blog article on shortcuts that can be used with the new Equation Editor, mostly TeX commands, so that I don't have to use the mouse all the time. But it's going to take research and adjusting.
