Weather in California

Nov 18, 2010 16:39

Now I know that a lot of people move here just because they enjoy the weather so much, but I have to say, I don't think I'm one of those people. I actually like having seasonal weather changes, where it goes from hot to cold. But here, it pretty much stays hot all year round. Its already the middle of November and its still hot outside most days. ( Read more... )

I know! When I read that I felt so bad for the mouse because he really didn't do anything to deserve that. But that guy seriously needs to get his head checked though.

Which part of California are you in? I have been here (both SoCal and NorCal) my entire life and this year was really messed up weather-wise. We had a very cool summer, and then it’s constantly 90 degrees in November. It’s usually not like that. But yeah, don’t expect too much from California - unless you’re in the Tahoe area, then there’s a lot of snow.

And that’s awful! Poor mouse. I hope it didn’t suffer too long. :(

I live in the LA area :)
Yeah the weather has definitely been weird this year. Its like it became backwards haha. But I would take the dry heat that we have here over the wet heat like in Texas any day. I lived in Texas for a year and a half when I first moved out to the US and I swear, you couldn't go outside in the summer without sweating buckets.

I hope so too. I don't even want to imagine how that must have been for him.

Oh really? Sweet!!! I'm a fellow Los Angeles resident. :) Did you just move here?

Yeah, it's completely backwards now. It was really cold last spring, then got a bit warm last summer, then it got really hot now. It's frustrating because I really want to wear sweaters and sleep under heavy comforters, but noo. I have to wait til I go up to Sacramento for Christmas. And yeah, dry heat > wet heat, that's for sure. :)

Awesome! I live in Burbank to be exact and I've lived in the LA area for about 3 years now. But I've lived in CA for about 5 years all together. The other 2 years were spent in OC. I move around a lot so I've lived in lots of different places haha.

Ughh I know!! At least it gets colder during night but its still not enough. And I LOVE cold weather because you get to wear those warm clothes and drink hot drinks and sit next to the fire. I seriously can't wait to use my fireplace hahaha. Oh you're going to Sacramento for Christmas? That sounds really cool :] And you'll probably get a nice chilly Christmas up there.

Yes, that is VERY true. How come you don't like Autumn? I don't think I've ever come across anyone who hated it hahaha.
I love winter because of the cold weather. I was born and raised in it so I miss it very much now. I like summer too, since my birthday is in the summer, but I do not like heat. I get overheated way too easily. That's why I prefer cold weather most of the time.

Hmmm that does make perfect sense. I don't think that its as severe where I lives so maybe that's why it doesn't bother me as much.
There is 9 months of winter in Siberia, which is where I lived, so you probably wouldn't like that place very much. I wish I could have a winter with snow in CA. It would be soooo nice!
