i remember nyc, 2

I remember reading for pleasure -- for the first time in months -- for hours. Staying in an apartment filled with a delightfully distracting library, I picked out a lesbian's graphic novel/autobiography, an acquaintance's memoir entitled "Queer for Life at Yale: 1952-1956," and a photo essay about Russia's "lost boys." As a former Michigander, thankfully from the other side of the state as someone from Rockford might say (though likely not you), I can fully appreciate why a very bright and creative 21 year old gay man would see the burning need to get the hell out of Kalamazoo. How much real time have you spent in Chicago?

I moved here just over two years ago, very much at middle age though living life through a much younger prism than some might expect, and have decided that Chicago is America's only truly World Class City, in all ways that a city might qualify for said title.

I get to Metro NY regularly for business, next week again in fact, and spent considerable time in Manhattan about 20 years ago. I'm just personally not sold on the place or the people living there, especially when I compare NYC to CHI.

All I know is that when you set up home in the Apple, its' quality will grow exponentially.
