Ueda Tatsuya is in love with Nishikido Ryo. He has been since the first time he saw Ryo on the first day of high school. More than 7 years he loved him-considering he is now a junior in college. It had been a secret crush for the first year because back then Ryo was popular, and well he was nobody.
nbsp; Ryo was the handsome, smart, rich-the charming prince that girls wanted as a boyfriend and boys wanted to get close to for the sake of popularity. Everywhere Ryo went; there were squealing girls and booming laughter of group of boys who always followed him around. Even the teachers liked him; he was not only popular for his looks and background. Believe it or not, he was shy and friendly to everyone, and worked hard in his classes to maintain his grades. Though everyone knows he can get really sarcastic and biting when he gets annoyed-which is not often. Basically, he was the perfect student of Johnny’s Academy at that time. Johnny’s Academy (aka JA) was the best school in Japan where only those who has the brain or money can get in-even now.
nbsp; On the other hand, Ueda Tatsuya was invisible individual that nobody cared to give second look. The fact that he got into Johnny’s academy was pure luck. No, his family was not poor, but certainly not rich enough to afford the tuition of JA. He was given a scholarship by Johnny because he was smart enough and because the school wanted publicity to appeal the citizens other than the rich ones. Even though, Ueda was hesitant he started to attend JA due to his parents’ encouragement. However, he did not have friends in there. Nobody saw him as an equal because he did not have the personality that stood out nor background that anybody wanted to get close. He certainly was not ugly, but his moped hair and carelessly thrown uniform made it hard to be recognized. Ueda was fine with being no one; he was just thankful that they just ignored him instead of bullying him for being somewhere he should not.
nbsp; Even though he did not like it, he went to school every day. For someone who had no friend to talk to, the only thing he looked forward at school was him: Nishikido Ryo. Actually, the only reason he went to school was to see Ryo.

First day of high school
nbsp; The constant ring of alarm clock and the knocking of the door woke Tatsuya up from his deep slumber. He moaned at the irritating alarm and turned off the clock at his bedside. Only then, did his sleepy mind picked up his mom’s knocking and her voice calling him to wake up and eat his breakfast. He groaned one last time and got up to get ready for school.
nbsp; When he came down, his parents and his brother was already sitting around waiting for him. He lazily said “Ohayo” to them and sat down on his seat. All of them said “Itadakimasu” then started to eat their breakfast. The conversation around the table was casual and nothing that interested Tatsuya. Tatsuya loved his family. His father is a financial director at a pretty well company. Even though he looked stern, he cared and did everything for his 2 sons. His mom is a stay-at-home mom, that pretty much pampers her 2 sons all the time-especially her youngest. And his older brother, Tomohisa, is in his last year of high school. Only 3 years older than him, but he takes pride in being the older one and made his priority to be the protector of Tatsuya. When someone is being mean to Tatsuya, he always is there defend him. However, now that they are in different school, he is sulking in his seat.
nbsp; “Why does Tatsuya have to go that rich school? I want to go to school with him~.” Tomohisa whined, pouting and looking at his father with really convincing teary eyes. Even he is older, he acted young to his family.
nbsp; Mr. and Mrs. Ueda chuckled at their older son and said “Tomo! You will see him at home every day. And I think it is time that you should let your brother grow up and let him be independent. Don’t you think, son?”
nbsp; Mrs. Ueda nodded to her husband’s words and added “Yeah! I think Tatsuya has become too dependent on you; therefore he should find his own friends and fight his own battles if necessary. Don’t get me wrong, Tomo. I think it is marvelous that you guys are close to each other. But this school could be a new start for Tatsuya, since next year you would be going to college anyways” while smiling softly at her sons.
Tomohisa’s pout became more prominent, but he hangs his head low and let out an audible “Hai.”
nbsp; Tatsuya was looking at his brother and his parents. Yes, he felt scared to be separated from his brother, since he was always together with him since young even at school. Though, he kind of agreed with his parents’ words. Since he was quiet, it was hard for him to get close to people. Only his brother and his friends talked to him and took care of him at school. However, he was not sure that he can find a friend at that rich school.
nbsp; He was taken out his thoughts when Tomohisa snapped his finger, trying to get his attention. He looked up confusedly at his brother, who rolled his eyes with an affectionate shake of his head. “If we don’t go now, we would be late, baka!” said Tomohisa.
nbsp; Both boys got up, thanking for the food and kissing their mother’s cheek from both sides making her giggle. Saying goodbye to their parents, two brothers left to school together. On the way to Tomohisa’s school-which was closer-Tatsuya was silent while Tomohisa chattered uncontrollably about everything. It was not strange. Even to his brother, Tatsuya does not talk much and just listens his overhype brother with a small smile.
nbsp; When they reached the school gate, Tomohisa looked at him worriedly for the first time, but said “Well, smart brother. Good Luck. But if you have trouble you got to tell me understand?”
nbsp; Tatsuya nodded and waved at him. Tomohisa, still worry in his eyes, ruffled Tatsuya’s hair affectionately, then walked away smiling to his gang that was waiting next to the school gate. They spotted Tatsuya when Tomohisa joined them and looked at him. They waved at him and Tatsuya waved back shyly then walked to his school.

nbsp; When he was almost at the gate of his new school, he got swarmed by screeching girls that was chasing a shiny black limousine that entered the gate and stopped at the massive door of the building. He complained inwardly for being hit by shrieking crowd of girls but he became curious of their targeted attention. He moved around those girls to get a good view of whoever is in that limo. The chauffeur, apparently, opened the door of the limo. From inside emerged a handsome boy with a really shy smile. Even between those insistent girls, he was friendly and bowing his head with that shy smile.
nbsp; It was the first time that Ueda Tatsuya’s heart beat faster than normal and his breath hitched. He could not look at anything nor hear anything, until that boy was saved from those girls by his friends who circled him and went into the school building. He was not stupid. He watched movies and read books to know that he just got his first crush. But he also knew that his feeling is impossible to be reciprocated. Way to start his first day of school, Tatsuya!
