LOVED it! Very very hot. When Cain brought up Bill and Laura abruptly asked her to leave, I legitimately got scared. I didn't think Cain would listen to her and even after she backed away, I was mentally bracing myself for Cain to suddenly attack Laura or something, possibly going into dubcon/noncon territory. Which, admittedly, I would actually have found hot but this was great too.

Thanks! I played with the idea of Cain being more insistent and becoming aggressive. But Laura being as ill and weak as she is here, she wouldn't have been able to defend herself. Which made me feel a bit iffy.

And Cain, as psychotic as she is in the series, I don't think she would have pressed herself on a human woman who had the whole fleet behind her.

But I'm glad you still like it.

This was cool. I love the self-destructive streak in Laura here, and just like shikabane_mai I feared that Cain wouldn't back off when Laura stopped it -- loved the bleakness at the end, too.

Thank you! It is a bit bleak and self-destructive, but I feel that with this pairing while attempting to stay true to canon as much as possible that is where you would end up rather quickly.
