[Olivier recognizes that expression. She shoves her hands into her pants pockets and stops in front of the newcomer.]

I take it you just arrived.

[Kono looks up, shaken from her thoughts.

Yeah. Wherever here is.

[She pulls a folded letter from her pocket and holds it out to her.]

This should explain a few things to you, and I can answer some questions if you have any.

[Kono reads, her eyebrows going up further and further as she keeps reading, until she finally just ends up laughing.]

Come on, this has to be some kind of joke, right?

[She stops laughing]

I wish I could say it was. [She pauses for a moment.] Honestly, I thought I was having some sort of pain-killer induced hallucination at first.

I've never had a pain-killer hallucination this vivid.

[Kono looks back down at the letter, for lack of anything else better to do. She skims through it a second time.]

So.... I shouldn't trust anyone in charge, we're stuck here no matter how I try to get out, and the rest of the world has been... destroyed, for all we know. Huh. Have you been here all three years?

Some of the policemen can be trusted, they're prisoners, too. I haven't dealt with the man who calls himself the Major, but I've heard he can't be trusted.

Destroyed or not, there isn't a way out of the town. The highway just loops back into town.

I've been here longer than I can remember, the town erased my memory. I woke up here in August with no recollection of my previous time here.

Oh, and be prepared for some strange sights...flying talking ponies for example.

There are various groups making an effort, but those running the town don't give us much to go on.

Still, trying to make an effort is better than sitting and doing nothing, right?

That's exactly how I feel. It's better than just playing into their hands. How would you feel about joining the resistance?

I'm still recruiting. There are other organizations, too, but I'm not sure who leads them.

We're looking to keep new comers informed through the letter, and to keep an eye out for suspicious activity.

During events, our goal is to fight back and protect those who can't protect themselves, civilian types. And to try and get word out on what is happening.
