Sure he had been dating Ritsuko for quite awhile now but they never had a private date at his place for him to prepare for. Now he was at the store looking for any food that he could possibly use to make a nice dinner and not ruin it and any other necessities he

Hikaru was doing the weekly shopping and looking at vegetables with a critical eye. She glanced up and gave Mattie a smile. "Good fresh vegetables are hard to find this time of year." she offered softly as a type of greeting, going back to looking at the veggies in front of her.

Mattie laughed, "Yeah and I need the best I can find. By yourself?" he asked not thinking he might be intruding her privacy.

"Yes." Hikaru replied, bagging a few vegetables before holding them out to him, offering the vegetables for him to take. "These are in good condition and have a nice flavor. It's surprising since red and green peppers usually don't last well this time of year, but these look like they'll last at least four days, unless they get covered in frost."

"Thanks these look great." he said as he studied the peppers. "I am sure Ritsuko will like these." Just saying her name made him smile. "You won't need help carrying your bags home, will you? I live nearby so I could drop off my stuff and come back for you."

Jiro was in the back room of the store, piling boxes for storage. He would get to the contents of the boxes some other day.
