Hmm, I find it strange that you guys won't be using an animation photo-capturing program to shoot your frames and export...that'll become essential when you need to quickly test stuff to see if it's working or not, since scanning can be pretty time consuming. If you're interested, we use Flipbook at my school (http://www.digicelinc.com/index.htm) It's a pretty good program but has some problems, but it's what I use 8)
Definitely post stuff! :D I remember how excited I was during 1st year. Do you guys have any recommended book reading for animation? Or are you planning on getting any books?
And between Boris and myself, we bought 30 reams of animation paper (500 sheets per ream) for this year :I If your school has a punch you could always cheat and use printing paper.
ORRR, they actually make regular 3 hole punch animation pegbars, so you could do that, it'd probably be the cheapest route for paper since you could easily punch it (an animation punch is at least $1k).
Hehe, thanks for all of the comments. I don't know why we're not using a program like that--maybe my school just doesn't have it (it's a community college, not a fancy-schmancy art school).
I don't think we have any recommended reading as far as I could tell from the syllabus, but I can't afford books right now anyway.
We do actually have an animation punch, and she has us bring printer paper from home, so...it's all gravy.
Hopefully I'll have my first animation up later today, if so I'll make a new entry here with the link.
