NEED HELP!!!

COmputer crashed completely and lost everything that wasnt on a disk. I have been up all night.

Anywho...im thinking about buying a new desktop from Dell and im wondering what i should be looking for as far as memory and size of hard drive and processor speed.

dell dimension 2400 has great everything, and exceeds average numbers in speed, and memory (slightly) perfect for word processing, e-mail, and photos.
