Hey lynz, thanks for posting about Mission X, I realized i haven't really gotten a chance to talk to you about it. wel, when i first looked at it, my heart emmeditaly was like "Oh my gosh I gotta go to bolivia!" South america has really been on my heart for the last few years just with everything sovereign grace is doing there and with my family there and stuff. But after talking and praying with my parents i really felt God leading me to start out with Miami this time. So I'm gonna apply to go there. with money issues and I'll only 15 and i don't speak spanish I really felt like now wasn't the time to go to south america. but i have hope that God will use me there later on! So just to build relationships with people and to serve in any way I can i'm gonna go for miami. But I guess i just have to wait and see what God does. :-) what about you??
Hey, Well i am definitely going to try to go, where I am not sure of yet. I have been praying and talking to my parents and we are going to discus it more and see where God leads. Why i want to go? i read that question on the application and i was like why do I want go?? that is still something I am praying about, but the main reason is to share the Joy of Christ Jesus our Lord. That is what i want to do with my life one way or the other. As far as writing letters goes, i am not sure, i am going to read a book about George Mueller, If you do not know who he was he was a man of Great faith, he was eventually responsible for taking care of many many orphans, and prayed in all the money he ever needed for the ministry he made . So I am not too keen on writing letters, there is nothing at all wrong with that at all though i just am not sure about it. But as soon as I have more to tell i will, God Bless. Just Keep praying and see what your parents think.
Hey well I talked to my parents about it the other day. Right now I've decided to apply for Virginia (I don't know why Virginia but I feel like thats where I'm supposed to try for) and see what happens from there. If I get selected I will just have to see if I can afford it. I know that my parents don't want me to write letters and I don't feel right about it either. I just think it's wrong to ask people for money. If God wants me to go He will provide. I am just gonna apply and see what happens. As far as why. I guess like Barrett said I just want to share the joy I've found in Christ and serve. I dont' know how long God has called me to be single for and while I wait I want to do something for Him.
It was fun reading all your thoughts. Raina, that's really awesome that you want to go to Miami. I know a lot of people think going out the the country is like the "real deal" of missions, but at the root of that attitude is really just selfishness. Don't get me wrong, I think God has definately called people to go out of our country and share the Gospel, but it's definately not THE ultimate way God will work. I think we can tend to have an attitude that God does the "big stuff" on the out of country trips, and He always DOES do incredible things there. But He has also been extremely faithful to our local churches. When I went to Sarasota last summer there was so much unity within our team and with their church. The unity that is built with the local churches is SO crucial! We couldn't step out into other countries if our ministry isn't all working in unity, with one direction and purpose

I pray for you and that our Lord will continue to convict your heart in what His will is for you.
I know through prayer, and fellowship with the body of Christ will help alleviate doubts that you may have and help focus your heart on God.
You know that in the New Testament, when Jesus gave instructions to his disciples after teaching them, he sent them out in pairs, with minimal articles of clothing, a pair of sandals, no money and no food. He told them that when they were rejected from a town, that they dust off their sandals and move on to the next town. For when they rejected them, they were rejecting Christ.
THe disciples knew this. What an example of faith!!!
I encourage you to read the following scriptures for faith: Proverbs 3:5-6 Hebrews 11:1 John 17
John 17 is an awesome prayer that Jesus prayed to Our Father In Heaven right before he was betrayed by Judas Iscariot and turned over to the scribes and pharisees.
