I had a dream about you a few weeks ago... You were wondering through forests in black boots... You had a grim look of determination on your face and the sun in your eyes.
It's been ages since I've talked to you. For whatever reason, I always have the sun in my eyes. It's interesting that you dreamed that. I'm good. Life is hectic as always. I always have something going on. I've been back in cincy for about a year and am getting ready to move into a huge house in the gaslight district of clifton in cincinnati, so lots to do.
I'm...well enough. I say that because I'm tempted to go into ridiculous amounts of angst over how much I hate my life right now in Indianapolis, but it's not really true. It's just that things didn't, this year, play out the way I wanted them to. Hah.
But I am living in Broad Ripple, which is Indy's version of Clifton, where I watch the ducks make families on the canal, bikeride on the trails, walk as much as I can, write not enough, do small time theatre with independent companies who are doing good work, and costume design to pay my bills. Currently I am tutoring two french girls in English and soon Shakespeare. I quit my job last year--I worked for the past two years at Wabash College as their costume designer. And let me tell you--boys shouldn't be allowed to be kept tucked away from women. Most of them are either little boys who cannot function or arrogant misogynistic shits. Fun.
Anyway. Too much. I hope you are well and your new house is amazing. What are you up to?
Everything happens for a reason. Hopefully the coming year will be better for you. Broad Ripple sounds serene. I've only been to a few places in Indiana and spent small amounts of time in Indianapolis years and years ago.
Currently I'm planning our move and fretting over what needs to be done/ bought for the house, especially since I'll have so much room. I work for a registrar doing techy work, so I actually have a lot of time during my day to read and write at my desk. I'm learning to write in Arabic, which can be unbelievably frustrating at times. I had been running for a while, but haven't been able to keep up with it. So I mostly do alot of walking and I need to buy a new bike.
There is entirely too much to put into words, so I'll probably just add you to my journal and you can read it if you like.
