I am shattered

I looked up my childhood best friend on Facebook and was shocked and saddened to see that she has turned into a stupid-overly feminized-fake titted-jesusfreak-breeder! Her wall is full of inane one or two sentence posts about how much she misses her husband and loves god. She is nearly illiterate and has 5 kids. Ugh ( Read more... )

Yes, but when did my generation become the "older generation?" I have always assumed some linear sort of theory of progressive worldview, but it is much more complicated than all that. My generation is disappointing, to say the least. All the talk of Gen X and their disgruntled attitudes toward the status quo, all the while they struggle to secure their basic needs (especially in terms of employment)...

I would have thought they'd have more compassion. But, as I began to witness in my mid-20s, the fighting spirit dies as marriage and children impel people toward conservative selfishness. I think it even applies to the queers of my generation (except for me, of course!).

This all represents another level of marginalization for me. I have yet to find any group with which I identify comfortably.

Egads! People are so stupid! Palin lovers...

I now have a "page" on FB under my real name (you'll see why). Search for it and "like" it!
