Actually, it is - losing any family you're close to is hard, whether it be your child or uncle or parent or whatever. My family is still just as gutted about losing my dad as our close friends' family, whose son committed suicide.
If I could, I wouldn't wish losing a parent on anyone, let alone young.
Regardless, I'm sorry again that he died Marc. Check with your work about bereavement days - workplaces are supposed to allow up to three paid days to return for the funeral.
I don't think losing a child would be "easier"...actually, I think it would depend on your personal beliefs and how the child was lost. I would feel worse about suicide than, say, a miscarriage (because my personal belief is that it was just not meant to be then). Just like losing any other family member, I guess.
I'm sorry to hear about your mum. I lost my dad in August 2006 and mum got cancer that December. She's free of it now, but those sorts of things still affect you forever and the gravity of her eventual passing bothers me some days.
I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather hun, and my condolences go out to your family. And i agree with what you said about rather passing then one of your parents, i guess at times like this it makes us appreciate what we have and the memories we have to cherrish. Go ahead and give me a call if you need to ..

I think that if I lost a child I wouldn't be able to exist as I do today.
That's the basis of my opinion there. =)
