Sometimes I despise the media. OK, admittedly, I've been reading the Evening Standard 'Lite' and it doesn't really count as 'the media' in any real sense. I'm quite amused by the contrasts in school shooting styles in different countries...

In Britain, it's basically Dunblane and not much else. Top marks for weapon variety, but nearly bottom for effectiveness.
In America, they tend to stick to automatics and home-made explosives: Lots of bullets, lots of woundings, few outright slayings.
In Germany there was a rather scarily focused one: Just two wounded, but something like thirteen dead to headshots, very few targets of opportunity. Clearly, a very professional psycho :-).

Dunblane wasn't effective? A single guy killed 16 kids! Granted they were 5, which means they'd only have about 2HP each, but still.

Columbine was pretty much the benchmark school shooting, for it's superb planning & array of weaponry. Unfortunately they seemed somewhat lacking in bombmaking skills, as most of their IEDs didn't go off. They'd have scored much higher if they had.

Hey, five-year-olds should be counted by the dozen - you can herd them together with a little effort!

...Although since he didn't have explosives, I suppose that'd not do much good. OK, Dunblane wasn't that bad for effectiveness. He did have an impressive medley of weapons, though.

So many people seem to forget 'petrol and a lighter'.
