so. i finally finished a short history of nearly everything. i loved it. there were so many moments in the book that just really blew me away, and by the time i finished it i was moved nearly to tears. such a beautiful thing, this existence. essentially, his whole point was that as the only beings capable of recognizing existence, it is our ( Read more... )

How long did it take you to read that? I want to read it, but I am also currently forcing myself slowly through Sophie's World (reading other books when I get too tired of it, and then going back to it), as it is a brief history not of everything, but of philosophy (which I suppose some might consider everything).

i actually started it toward the end of march, and there was about a month and a half there where i really didn't pick it up at all. it actually would have been a pretty fast read had i not become so busy.
