Oh my God. I'm replying here instead of there, but that was fantastic! Gah, the angst and the bond and the world-building, even in that short little piece. So very good! Have you written more?

Oh, I just had time to go back and read this. This was gorgeous. Great imagery and allusion. It's got such a sad and tentative mood, like they're all waiting for the other, other shoe to drop. And the little details bring the whole thing to life.
