So, I'm trying to figuer out what this song by the Mountain Goats is about. I think it's about a son picking a fight with his abusive father, but I'm not sure. Maybe someone has a better idea.

That's what I figured, also.

I stumbled across The Mountain Goats on Launchcast about a month ago and can't believe how much I love the songs. I've been talking about them to everyone who'll listen to me for more than five seconds. Today, several different people on my flist have mentioned them. How cool is that?

That is weird. But then, the Mountain Goats is a pretty weird guy, and I'm not surprised weirdness follows his music.

I was listening to other songs from the album that song is on, and there's numerous mentions of a violent, alcoholic step dad, and the problems of living a life around a person like that.

That's interesting. I wasn't sure if this song was autobiographical, or a story about someone else told from the first person.
