October has been a horrible month. Things in general haven't been going so well, and some horrific shit happened to me on my birthday (I'm too upset to talk about it, but I'm hurting pretty badly). And now, I've broken my wrist

Good luck with the surgery tomorrow! Keep me posted if anything major comes up. Do you have me listed as your emergency contact or your landlords?
October has been a horrible month for me too (things are crazy at work because of the renos) and I have the most horrible cold right now :( hope I will be better for this weekend.
I have you and my landlords listed. But I tend to list them first--no offense--because they live upstairs and if anything happens to me they can look after Simon, or pick me up, etc.
If you call/text/email me tomorrow, don't expect an immediate reply. I might be totally out of it and tired.
ha ha no offence taken! it definitely makes sense to have them listed as they are local But obvs if anything major happens hopefully someone/they would notify me.
I'll be pretty busy tomorrow (working then a training session thing after work) but if you're up to it just let me know how it went (obvs if you're tired/out of it don't worry).
Update re: this weekend: looks like we will be doing a dinner before the concert. M is understanding that I don't want to see you know who on Sat, but she said she would come on Sunday if I do a brunch with you know who. J is working Sunday, so it would just be M. Obvs you can come if you want (but understandable if you don't want to). Haven't spoken to you know who yet ) but I mentioned brunch to her in my last email.
Don't worry, you'll be notified if something happened. But I should make sure my landlords have your number. And in my phone, I listed you and my landlord as emergency contacts, and beside you-know-who, wrote "Do NOT call in an emergency."
I hope the surgery and recovery goes smoothly and as painlessly as possible.
Only T3's?! That's what I got for my wisdom teeth... Keenan got something stronger. The T3's would work for about an hour or so... and that was teeth, not a broken wrist!!!
Ugh, the surgery is probably a good thing... my wrist was borderline on needing surgery and they probably should have done it because it still hurts years later. They gave me T3's in a child proof bottle, which I didn't need to take a dose until midnight and it took me about 20 minutes to open the damn thing. Do you remember the reduction? they gave my a twilight sleep drug and I was arguing with them that it wasn't done yet until I looked down at my arm.
See if they'll write you a prescription for sleeping pills, maybe? A good night's rest will help you cope with the pain, for sure. Do you have a good pair of slip-on shoes?
So, Tylenol 3s don't work. Neither does hydromorphone. And apparently, pot doesn't get me stoned (my landlord gave me a couple of brownies because it was hours till I got the hydromorphone). I just want fucking drugs that will help with the pain!
My first rx for T3s were in an easy to open bottle. But I got hydromorphone in a childproof bottle--WTF?! How can someone with a broken wrist open up the bottle? (It's hard enough with two functional arms.) So I switched the lids (well, my landlord did).
I don't remember the surgery at all--I was completely passed out.
Oh yeah, I have slip ons. I'm pretty much living in PJs.
Just an FYI we're actually legally obligated to put it in a childproof container, unless otherwise asked. Seems silly, but they probably didn't realize you had wrist surgery. And ESPECIALLY for a opioid they're gonna use a childproof lid unless specifically requested and documented (liability issue - that little warning you sometimes see "there is enough medication in this container to seriously harm or kill a child" is true). But not all child resistant caps are created equal (like the ones from SDM I think you just line up the arrow and it pops off, but other stores use the ones where you have to push down and open which is not easy to do with a busted wrist of course). But then again the childproof caps don't seem to stop the lid coming off in my purse and spilling pills everywhere
( ... )
I didn't pick up my rx, so don't know if my landlords said I had a broken wrist. But I picked up my first rx for T3 and the pharmacist could see I had a broken wrist so wisely offered a non-childproof cap, which I was grateful for. (I am forever going to save this pill bottle and lid.) My landlord said that the pharmacist recognized my name as Burmese.
Nope, hydromrphone does **nothing**. It doesn't lessen the pain at all, and just makes me tired and dizzy/head foggy, after several hours (it's not even fast acting). I am seriously not impressed with the crap "painkillers" I'm on. Nothing works at all! I don't even know why I continue to take it.
Oh, childproof caps are very hard to put back on. I never get them on properly, so they spill all over my purse too.
